If you’re anything like me, you find yourself seeing lots of products advertised to you from Wish. The prices advertised on Wish are ridiculously cheap. But are the products any good?

What Is Wish?

Wish is a mobile shopping website (and app) where you can buying this directly from indidviual merchants. The majority come from China and take a good few weeks to arrive. The fact there is no real middleman means you get cheaper prices. Some things are advertised as item they’re not. There are a few knock offs on there and you’re unsure whether the items you order will actually work.

My Experience

I bought a drone from Wish about a year ago. I made a YouTube video about it which you can see here. It didn’t work. It was poor quality and was being advertised as a DJI Spark. Which it was absolutely nothing like. In the end, it was a waste of money but quite fun trying to make a video with a drone that didn’t work.

I Wouldn’t Buy Electronics

I think there probably are half decent products on there that you can be quite happy with. If you download the app you get push notifications like the one I recently got. It said ‘Stop over paying and get your new phone from the factory. £21 smart phone.’ They get you interested with the price but then you look a bit closer and realise it’s probably not going to be anything like what they’re saying it is. I wouldn’t buy any electrics or gadgets from Wish again but they offer other products which might be a little less risky.

Other Items Might Be Worth A Punt

Items like car boot organised, storage nets and back of the seat organisers, you’d think would be much of a muchness. They might be made out of slightly poorer material than you might find elsewhere but it’s likely the same items that you’ll find on eBay via a reseller. In this time of wondering whether you should be wearing a mask in public, these are available on Wish too. Whether they meet UK standards is another matter but they are available.

You can often find free items that you just pay the postage on. These include kitchen utensils which look quite good and the one I have on my screen now has 4 out of 5 star reviews. It’s worth looking at what other people have said about them. This gives you a more rounded view of the item you’re going to buy. This is probably a better way of getting an opinion on it instead of relying on the description from Wish alone.

There are a vast array of products on the website for you to look at. You might fancy buying something if you see something you want or need but don’t get pulled in by the price. The idea of getting what you pay for is fairly important here. Buy at your will, you might get a great product but you might be disappointed.
