We rely on broadband for everything these days. From working at home to ordering our shopping online. We even connect with loved ones via video chat which is done over the internet. There are lots of companies out there, all competing for customers. One of the ways they try to pull you into signing up with them over and above another company is with a gift. A little incentive to get your business. So how do you find these broadband deals with gifts? Let’s have a look.

What Broadband Do You Need?

Firstly, you need to know what broadband you actually need. If your internet usage is heavy, you’ll be something like fibre which is going to give you the speed you require. This could be the case as well if you have a large family with one child gaming online and another one video chatting to their friends whilst you are trying to stream a box set. Whereas if you simply check emails and order your weekly shop you won’t need to spend as much for your broadband. Decide what speeds you need. The faster it is, the more you will probably pay.

How To Find Broadband Deals With Gifts

When you know what kind of broadband you are looking for, you can start to look for those broadband deals with gifts. If you currently have a broadband contract you need to see when that expires as you may get charged if you leave the contract early. Some people are on 30 day rolling terms though so it’s easy to leave those. Ask your current provider for their best price to renew and if there is anything they can throw in on top as a free gift. if they can’t look around at their competitors. Search online for well known names and see what they are offering. You might find some unknown names who provide broadband too. As well as the free gift, be sure to check reviews and customer service.

What Free Gifts Are Available?

With so many broadband companies trying to charge you for the router (plus delivery fees!) or saying there is a connection fee, it’s nice to find broadband deals with gifts. Switching your broadband and getting these incentives can be a good thing. Most of these freebies are gift cards to places like Amazon and at the time of writing this, I could get one worth £130. That would be great for helping with the Christmas gift shopping. In the past I’ve seen free gifts including games consoles and tablets.

Is The Freebie Worth It?

You need to ask yourself if the freebie is worth it. The first thing you need to do is be happy with the price you are paying. Companies don’t usually give amazing things away for free so where are they claiming that money back from? Sometimes you can get a cheaper deal and the price difference over the term would allow you to buy the gift yourself, whilst paying less money. The price you are paying needs to be your first requirement. Then see what the freebie is. Take into account the price per month that you are paying with the gift card included. If, for example, you’re paying £20 a month for 12 months. That’s £240. However if you’re getting a £100 gift card, you’re essentially paying £140 for 12 months. That works out at just over £11.50 per month.

Don’t Forget Cashback

Be sure to click through websites like Quidco and Top Cashback to get cashback on your purchases. You could save a lot of money on your broadband bill when cashback tracks and pays out a few weeks down the line. Sometimes there are broadband deals with gifts advertised on these cashback sites too. You might find something you wouldn’t have gone for if you hadn’t checked.

As you can see, these broadband companies want you as a customer and are prepared to give you something for signing up. If you play the game and switch from one company to another when your contract ends, you can get yourself some decent freebies.
