We’re all using broadband to the max at the moment. If you’re working at home, or passing the time by streaming the latest series on Disney+, you’ll be working your broadband pretty hard. Do you know the best broadband deals in your area and are you on the right one for you?
Your Current Provider
Are you getting a good service from your current provider? How much are you paying? Are you still within a contract? If you had a 12 or 18 month contract and that has passed, you’re likely paying more than you need to be. New customers get the best deals as the company want to gt you on board, get your details and start getting your money. They rely on so many people just sticking with them once the contract has ended and paying more than they really should be. If you move from company to company each time your contract ends, you’ll get the best deals around. Whilst it takes a bit of time, this is one way to ensure you’re always getting the best broadband deals.
Do You Need Fibre
Many people are still on basic broadband when they could be receiving a faster speed via more-modern fibre connections. If you often find yourself running on slow speeds or your streaming service takes a while to buffer, you could probably do with a high speed broadband connection. Fibre is readily available throughout most of the country and you’ll be surprised at the speeds you can get, without shelling out that much money.

Check Best Speeds In Your Area
An easy way to check the broadband speed you’re currently getting and compare it to what else is available in your community, is to go to broadband.co.uk. Input your postcode and let the site run a test to see what download and upload speeds you’re getting, before the website compares it to other available broadband. You’ll then be able to see what your paying for and if a slight price increase is worth the extra speed, or perhaps it will reveal that you’re overpaying for your current speeds.
Compare Prices & Deals
Doing a quick comparison on one of the well known comparison sites is a must. It’ll give you a ballpark figure of what you’ll be looking at paying. Some of these comparison sites have exclusive offers which you find find elsewhere so going direct isn’t always cheaper. Sometimes it is though so make sure to check that too.
You also need to see if combing your broadband phone and even TV into one package works out cheaper than what you’d be paying without said package deal. If you have a lot of internet connecting devices in your home and stream a lot of movies or TV via Netflix of Now TV, you need to ensure you get unlimited internet access with no limits. You don’t want to find yourself running out or getting charged for going over your allowance. Be sure you get a good deal for what you actually need.
Go Via A Cashback Site
Check your go-to cashback site to see if there are any decent cashback deals available. Whilst typing this I’m looking on Quidco for the cashback rates of taking broadband out with various suppliers. Earn up to £170 for getting BT Broadband, £130 for Virgin Media, £70 for Plusnet. You might find an amazing deal and make it even cheaper by getting a cashback payment on top! It’s always worth a look. It might even make you look at different companies for the best broadband deals out there.
Save Money & Get A Better Service
Switching your broadband company can be one of the quickest ways to save money. Say you were on a great deal of £30 a month for basic broadband which ended after 18 months. If your bills then went up to £40 once the contract ended but you found a new customer £25 offer for faster fibre, now that it’s available in your area, you’re saving money and getting a better service.
Be sure you’re getting the best broadband for the price you’re paying every month. Happy streaming and surfing!
