Lots of us think that in order to have access to great movies, we need to sign up and subscribe to online streaming services. The likes of Netflix have brilliant content, for sure, but don’t look past some awesome films available on free to air television. Let’s have a look at some ITV2 films coming up on the schedule which are perfect for a night in with some cheesy nachos or a bucket of popcorn.
Fantastic Franchises
Hollywood has brought out some amazing franchises over the years. Once you’ve seen and enjoyed one, you’ll want the check out the rest of the movies. ITV2 films from franchises include Jurassic Park, Sherlock Holmes and The Fast and The Furious.
The rebooted Jurassic Park films are well worth watching, especially if you loved the originals. Not only are they great, with a wonderful new cast including Chris Pratt. They’re also worth catching up on because the third new one is going to see the return of characters from the originals. I know! It’s going to be awesome!
The Sherlock Holmes films are funny and full of action. Robert Downey Junior like you’ve never seen him before and Jude Law providing a great support. Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong are also in the first of the series and you’ll enjoy the mystery and laughs. There is a sequel to watch and a third film on the way next year.
The Fast and The Furious films are fantastic. They went from racing storylines over the first few films, bringing our characters together, to a crime busting team that would rival the best. Vin Diesel leads the cast which also, across the franchise includes The Rock Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. On the ITV2 films schedule tonight, is Fast 7. This is the one that Paul Walker died during the production of. It’s a film for him and I guarantee you’ll shed a tear or two.

Something For The Kids
The summer holidays are hard to get through and having some movie entertainment to keep the kids happy is a big help. The ITV2 films appropriate for the kids include The Lego Batman Movie, Hotel Transylvania and Dr Seuss’ The Lorax. Kids of all ages love those little yellow characters who do daft stuff. Minions is one of the key parts of the current ITV2 films schedule and I’ll be watching it too!
There are plenty of other films to choose from as well. For a good laugh, check out We’re The Millers which stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter. When there are so many amazing films on free to air TV, if you’re paying for your TV license, you might as well enjoy what it gives you, rather than spending extra money on other subscriptions. I love settling down into the sofa with a cold drink and some sweets or snacks to enjoy a film. What ITV2 films have you recently watched? Let me know over on Twitter.
